The Quatkemeyer Foundation

We Help People!

The Quatkemeyer Foundation was founded in 1986 by Robert and Nancy Quatkemeyer with one though in mind. “We want to help people” no matter how big or small the need was it was important to Bob and Nancy. The goals from the inception of the foundation have been to

  • Serve as a resource for philanthropy
  • Build a growing endowment for the community’s special needs and oppertunities. To be a contributing part of established programs by helping those in need through research, development and the distribution of funds.
  •  Provide a flexible and cost effective way for donors to participate and be recognized as contributors to their community and national programs.
  • Be remembered for trying to find the good within all of us and in some small way being a positive influence to those you interact with throughout our lives.

Written By Robert Quatkemeyer Jr in 1986.

Bob and Nancy worked together over a span of 30 years to build the foundation and see those goals met. Wether it was an individuals special need, a bigger organization, a sports team (Especially Baseball) or a Clients special wish. They continued to helped people.

Some of the special interest that have been served or the year are but on limited to, The Lakota Help and Site program for kids, Support of the Pisgah Youth Organization, Working with inner city youth in OTR and countless individuals in need of assistance.

Many times the foundation was supported by private donors and by Bob and Nancy themselves. The never put pressure on people to feel like they had to give. Bob would even donate all the money he would make through umpiring high school and Collegian Level Baseball to the foundation.

In 2007 the Foundation saw the addition of Bob’s son Robert Quatkemeyer III to the Foundation Board. He was excited to learn and be proactive in supporting the needs of the greater Cincinnati Area Community. It was at this time that the Foundation was used to support multiple youth baseball teams inside SWOL. Bob believe in working with youth and Rob was extremely passionate about it as well. Bob alway believe in teaching life lessons through the game of Baseball and he was very good at doing it. To see the amount of players that Bob coached that went on to play in college or professionally is very special. But to see even more are now coaching and giving back to youth players is a testament to Bob the impact that he had on his players lives.

In 2013 the foundation took a slightly new direction with supporting the America Alzheimer’s Association. After both Bob and Nancy’s father were diagnosed with this terrible disease. Alzheimer is something that can effect us all. Not only the person that has this disease but friends and family members as well. That is why we will continue to support this cause.

2013 also saw the inception of the Fairfield Elite Baseball Club supported and sponsored by the Foundation. This was a program created by Bob and Eric Minshall that helped place of 150 kids in college to further there education and continue playing baseball. Rob Quatkemeyer joined the program in 2014 after leaving the Cincinnati Baseball Club and became the 17U Head Coach for the program. He also instilled the Elite Man Scholarship and the Elite Showcase which help serve at the programs biggest recruiting event.   The Elite man Scholarship is given to a Current Senior that exhibits the characters of an Elite man in his faith, service, work and sports career.

“Being Elite is not about winning, it is about how you carry yourself and treat other people” Bob Quatkemeyer.

In 2015 after battling cancer secretly for almost 2 years because he did not want his clients or friends to worry about him, Bob lost his battle. Rob gave the eulogy for his dad. My dad was most proud of three things in his life. His friends and family, his business and his foundation. With this foundation Bob has left us a legacy and I promise to keep it going. With this foundation Bob and Nancy continue to help people.

“I belive in the quality of life over the quantity and I have lived a good one”  Bob Quatkemeyer

Since 2015 Bobs son Rob has been the acting president of the foundation.

“We have continued to help people, provide funds and support to the organizations we work with. As we have continued to process and morn Bobs passing”. Rob Quatkemeyer

“2018 is a year to bring the Foundation into a new light. We are inspired and passionate about continuing Bob’s work. We are focusing on rebuilding and refunding the foundation and plan to launch two new initiatives in 2019. The Foundation will remain strong and will hold to the values that Bob and Nancy put in place all those years ago”.
